About Grangemount Surgery

Grangemount surgery has been a part of the community  in Naul/Stamullen/Balbriggan and north county Dublin catchment area for more than 35 years.

Originally established by Dr Ursula O’Brien Counihan, the general practice and other services are now led by Dr John Connelly and his dedicated medical, nursing and administration colleagues.

We pride ourselves on patient centered care, attention to detail and applying the best up to date medical evidence to our practice in a friendly modern environment.

We are not a large group practice and Dr Connelly is especially aware of the value of developing detailed professional relationships with his patients as he feels the best patient outcome is delivered by getting to know his patients and their working lives and personal circumstances in detail.

We work from a purpose built surgery in a peaceful rural setting but less than one mile from the M1 motorway, less than 5km from Balbriggan and 1 km from Stamullen village.

The practice is a 20 minute drive from Dublin airport.

The practice is fully wheelchair accessible and there is plenty of free car parking outside the surgery door.

We provide the full range of general practice services including antenatal and postnatal care, childhood vaccinations, cervical smear tests, blood tests, chronic disease management etc.

Dr Connelly also has additional special qualifications in Occupational Medicine, Musco-skeletal Medicine and Aviation Medicine (pilot and cabincrew medicals)

We provide services to medical card and private patients and are now accepting applications from patients wishing to join the practice.

The practice is a training practice, we train medical students from Trinity College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

We are also now training the next generation of General Practitioners via the Irish College of General Practitioners training scheme.
